GETAWAY | The Library by The Macallan x Four Seasons x Whistler

Whistler—(November 26, 2024) Late last month, press were invited up to the Four Seasons Resort Whistler for a quick but refreshing day trip to visit the 4-star luxury hotel's many amenities while also checking out the newly reopened The Library by The Macallan, an intimate whisky and cocktail pop-up bar, back for its second year.

As part of their two hundredth anniversary, Macallan (est. 1824) is embarking on various celebrations of its brand's history including this four-month residency at the Four Seasons in addition to a very special (and pricey!) whisky blend.

The Library by The Macallan

Known for its sherry-cask flavours, the special Macallan bar, overseen by returning bartender Stephan Dominicus, offers an expertly fine-tuned selection of premium cocktails for every taste, including something spiritless.



Beyond The Library, we were treated to many of the resort's other attractions. A special cocktail-paired art class where guests were taught the basics of canvas oil painting was actually quite relaxing, especially set against the scenic mountaintop backdrop.

The Library, located cozily just outside the main lobby, is the only place in Canada where all three whiskies (copper, red, and black) from their M Collection—known for its foundational "Six Pillars" comprised of natural colour, mastery, curiously small spirit stills, the estate, exceptional oak casks, and sherry wine—can be tasted.

Make no mistake, these Four Seasons offerings are aimed at those seeking the peak of luxury, hospitality, dining, and experience. There's also a clear fusion of mountain life and cosmopolitan living while echoing the timeless class of a library setting as a sort of sophisticated sanctuary.
