"This is not grocery store flour."
Kensington–Cedar Cottage—East Vancouver's new Flourist Mill & Bakery (formerly known as Grain) is the local brand's first proper brick-and-mortar shop and café from the well-known premium dry good purveyors.
Full of clean lines and soft wood finishes, Flourist's 2,800-square-foot space is gorgeously illuminating and an ideal destination for a midday break in its hidden corner location on Commercial Street off 18th Avenue somewhere in between the nexus of Victoria Drive and Commercial Drive.

It's hard to ignore the fresh smell and in-house flour milled right there. It's easy to tell they take their production quality and ingredients seriously.
Everything from the assortment of toasts to their seasonal galettes and variety of sweets seems intriguing.

Regardless of the quality and thought behind the brand and baking, Flourist feels familiar and inviting in mostly the best ways possible as it all evokes a sense of quality and precision.
Flourist is already such an appealing destination for multiple reasons from its purveyance of daily stone-milled organic flours to its freshly-made bread or as a spot for coffee and bakery treats.
