Grandview–Woodland—(May 20, 2019) Over the holiday long weekend, Storm Brewing brought their local community together for a rainy Victoria Day loading dock party in their East Vancouver neighbourhood at the end of Commercial Drive.
As Vancouver's longest running craft brewery (since 1994) that predates the current wave of new beer purveyors, Storm remarkably lacks a tasting room, doesn't serve the usual glasses or pints of ale, and is basically just a regular, unglamorous working brewery.

On this very wet holiday Monday, Storm guests were treated to their usual funky beer concoctions (cinnamon bun ale, chica cherry cola stour, or vanilla whiskey stout) and reliable staples in addition to ice cream beer floats enjoyed outside on their paved loading dock.
As recently reported, Storm is unfortunately on a lookout for a new location to hold their brewery with their now undervalued 25-year lease almost up. Ironically, the local community they've helped create and build up is unaffordable as sadly has become the trend.
Storm is all about preserving a neighbhourhood feel with a strong sense of unpretention. They are a staple of the local Eastside "Yeast Van" craft beer community they started and will hopefully be around for a long time somewhere, wherever they end up.
