Kitsilano—(May 23, 2019) Luxury furniture showroom Livingspace Interiors celebrated its 30th anniversary in business by revealing an impressive $2-million redesign and expansion referred to as "The Next Chapter". Housed in a 1930s era printing factory in Vancouver's Armoury District, the high-end European design store notably added a fifth-floor—previously occupied by Bocci headquarters—to its space that now showcases an unexpected rooftop garden courtyard (see below).
Livingspace's renovation brings the showroom's total footprint to a noteworthy 30,000-square-feet to house the many internationally recognized brands it carries including those dedicated to lighting, outdoor furniture, closet systems, and kitchens.
The new level features renowned Italian brands like the sophisticated Paola Lenti with its innovative use of colour and Canada's first Molteni&C/Dada monobrand showroom for a more refined and intimate experience.
Throughout the redesign process, Livingspace made sure to work closely with its various international brand partners to ensure its coveted heritage building and location was properly preserved.
The eventual result was a contemporary gallery approach blended into a shop-within-a-shop layout purposefully juxtaposing their building's nearly century-old industrial factory history.
Since opening in 1988, Livingspace has evolved from a luxury furniture-only retailer to a premier one-stop destination for higher-end home building/shopping within the modern lifestyle.
That said, the Vancouver-based retailer is still looking towards the future thanks to the hotly anticipated arrival of a Minotti monobrand showroom later in the year.
