"This is real life."
False Creek—(October 2, 2018) Powerhouse superstar couple Jay-Z and Beyoncé (aka The Carters) tore the roof off of BC Place Stadium on the final leg (and penultimate performance) of their rapturous On the Run II Tour on Tuesday night.
It was a rather flawless performance by the co-headlining duo alternating and collaborating on their song performances with themes about their marriage and dueling concept albums—the acclaimed Lemonade and 4:44—culminating ultimately in their Everything Is Love team-up.
After a late start, BC Place was packed with 40,000 raucous guests heavily leaning on the fairer sex—many dressed to the nines. The people were ready for their Queen Bey. Jay-Z was there too—and also in fine form(ation).
Everything about On the Run II felt like a thematic culmination of an elaborate emotional musical narrative of The Carters as a family beyond their well-publicized marital issues, showcase as parents, and clear bond as partners.
Jay and Bey put on quite the show and there's really not much to say about the dazzling performance and accompanying stage show going forty-seven songs deep on their highly choreographed setlist
Sufficed to say, the crowd went apes**t.
