"Part mystery, part magic, part je ne sais quoi."
Shaughnessy—(August 23, 2018) The seventh annual Dîner en Blanc Vancouver outdoor dining event was another crowded, lively, and endlessly pretty affair with the white festivities taking place at VanDusen Botanical Garden this time around.
Another 4,000 attendees—taking a step back with a smaller crowd and holding back its usual year over year growth—dolled themselves up in their finest late summer whites for The Social Concierge's annual signature, end of summer event.
Taking a cue from last year's tight-knit feeling ambiance and park setting, VanDusen proved a refreshing venue outside of Vancouver's usual central core for a more hideaway location nestled in a somewhat remote neighbourhood as the night focused on the basics of communal al fresco dining and gathering.
The event's appeal has always laid with its perceived specialness as a tightly-organized celebration that's picturesque and elevated. This year was no different, aside from the more demure and relaxed vibe, in it its somewhat casual ornate nature.
Well into its run as a Vancouver tradition of mixed feelings and as a misinterpreted symbol of opulence, Dîner simply is and was this year as nice step in the dining concept sustaining itself as an anchor summer event for years to come.
