SPOTLIGHT | Science of Cocktails 2018 x Science World

False Creek—(February 8, 2018) Science World's third annual charitable cocktail fundraiser, Science of Cocktails, topped itself once again in bringing together over thirty of Vancouver's finest bartenders and mixologists alongside 1,500 attendees to support their Class Field Trip Program.

The first thing made clear this year was the expanded offerings with more bar and drink stations as well as small bites throughout the venue.

There was a brisker flow with guests spread all across the science centre imbibing and having a good time.

fat washed boulevardier (bourbon whiskey fat washed with Taiwanese pork belly, Campari, and sweet vermouth)

While the innovative scientific nature of the cocktail drinks remained, the quality and thirst quenching nature of each libation was raised.

The hot ticket event focused on its open bar style concept with a bevy of quality appetizers spaced between Science World's famous interactive exhibits.

Expo 86'd cocktail (with vodka, spice syrup, smoke and oak bitters, and lemon juice)

It was announced SOC raised precisely $276,695—that's $76,695 above their $200,000 projected goal—smashing all expectations for the year.



As always, 100% of proceeds from the night's tickets sales goes towards funding school trips to Science World for children and students from underserved Lower Mainland schools with access to the venue.
