Hastings–Sunrise—(October 14, 2017) Arcade Fire finally made their long awaited return to Vancouver—after a long seven-year absence—as the Montreal indie rockers hit the Pacific Coliseum live in concert for the Canadian leg of their Infinite Content 2017 Tour.
It's easy to forget how the multi-talented band of misfits changed the indie rock scene thirteen years ago with their seminal debut album, Funeral.
Set in-the-round, the stage show was a 360° affair with a heavyweight boxing match style entrance and professional fight inspired theatrics and ring.
The eclectic, multi-instrumental band performed underneath four huge, ultra-wide LED screens displaying all sorts of visuals for an all encompassing spectacle experience.
Despite a tepid response to their fifth album, Everything Now, in contrast to their usual glowing praise, the whole branding endeavor skewering contemporary capitalist corporate culture is described as "by far their most ambitious production" ever. Their show proved it's best enjoyed live as loud as possible and spread out in between their other beloved hit records.
