Richmond—(July 8, 2017) Richmond Night Market, in its many different incarnations and locations over the years, has become an annual summer staple for both locals and tourists looking for a bit of Southeast Asian flair closer to home. Located centrally a short walk from both Bridgeport SkyTrain station and the River Rock Casino Resort, it has become known as a smörgåsbord of diverse food options and for good reason.
But with so many choices, the Asian style market can be absolutely overwhelming for newcomers with so much going on and so many delicious items to choose from surrounded by thousands of people during the nightly weekend crowds.
Make no mistake, there’s something for everyone to eat with so much different ethnic street food available starting with more traditional Chinese items from Hong Kong to Taiwan or more and more stalls serving Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, and even European fare.
Hot & spice grilled squid from The Squid Co.
Garlic & pepper deep fried squid from Super BBQ
Churro in vanilla ice cream from Churro in Ice Cream
Classic bubble waffle from Michelin Bubble Waffles
Mango tapioca and coconut drink from Mango Yummy
Spicy chipotle deep fried fish on a stick from Fish Sticks
There are some classic staples and must eats like grilled or barbecue squid (how about both?), freshly made bubble waffles, an assortment of meats served on a stick, and a variety of iced mango dessert drinks.
