Gastown—Powell Street's latest hip new cafe and eatery, the amusingly named The Birds & the Beets, is undeniably stylish and creatively inspiring. Its open, and cavernous space is filled with cool, inviting flourishes.
TB&TB has a simple but very appealing menu of fresh snacks, sandwiches, and salads.
On this sun-soaked weekday afternoon, I perked up with a simple yet tasty turkey sandwich. It was both satisfying and comforting as the Rossdown Farms turkey was particularly good.
There's a relaxed vibe mixed with a bustling creative energy coming from both sides of the street and the local neighbourhood surrounding the location.
What's most appealing about TB&TB is its narrow but welcoming end-to-end and door-to-door construction allowing for a nice flow and energy to the space.
As for the coffee, their Americano (made from Bows & Arrows beans) was suitably standard but reliably fulfilling in its espresso flavours.

With clean and luminous wood finishes, the coffee shop fits nicely near the end of Gastown on Powell Street leading into the Eastside of town.
An appealing and positively bright spot, The Birds & the Beets is an easy and inviting destination to spend your coffee break or any part of your day.
