Portland Trip: Snack time at Blue Star Donuts downtown on June 27, 2014.
Portland's Blue Star Donuts is a welcome addition to the doughnut scene in the vein of our local Lucky's Doughnuts and Cartem's Donuterie.
Many Vancouverites recommended I try their eclectic flavours of fried doughy goodness.
First, I tried the real maple bacon doughnut and it was delicious, crispy, and clean tasting. The standard original glazed (aka "OG") was a solid execution of the classic doughnut staple.
My pals raved about the crème brûlée doughnuts and their flame-seared goodness full of rich custard.
Move over Voodoo. Blue Star is the real deal. Their selection and variety of doughnut flavours makes for a welcome treat.
