Food truck lunch tour at Soho Road Naan Kebab, Feastro the Rolling Bistro, and Roaming Dragon on West Georgia Street on March 4, 2014.
On a very wet, rainy, and cold afternoon, we embarked on a food truck tour downtown of three of West Georgia Street's finest mobile eateries hosted by Lay's Canada and comedian/host James Cunningham from Eat Street to promote the Do Us A Flavour Canada contest.
First stop was Soho Road and their tastily filling and well-cooked lamb tiki naan wrap. The handheld is a great solution to a hungry person on the go.
Feastro's dirty fries (with pulled pork, barbecue sauce, garlic lemon aioli, salsa, and jalapeños) was a pretty scrumptious treat (as good as it looks an sounds) yet crispier fries would have made it even better. I enjoyed the barbecue pulled pork flavour contrasted with the salsa and peppers.
Roaming Dragon's Malaysian tofu grilled burrito was full of flavour and an interesting fusion of tastes and elements, but alas, not really my thing as I'm not one much for tofu.
Lunch only highlighted the still burgeoning street food scene and decent variety in the city despite our sometimes uncooperative weather conditions. Happy eating.
