Portland Trip: Breakfast at Waffle Window in the Hawthorne District and on Alberta Street from August 15 to 18, 2013.
We hit up the aptly named Waffle Window early and often at a couple of their locations for their delicious and convenient made to order waffle concoctions. I had a waffle ice cream sandwich for a dessert on the go and it was a gooey, delicious, creamy mess of a treat.
Three B's waffle (with pepper bacon, brie, fresh basil and house made peach jam) was another satisfying breakfast waffle full of contrasting tastes.
It's hard to beat any of the fresh berry waffles (this one with raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries).
My staple is their spicy bacon cheddar jalapeño (with thick cut peppered bacon, jalapeños, a slice of Tillamook cheddar, and topped with avocado-tomatillo salsa) as it's such a tasty dish.
I found the whole farm waffle (with pepper bacon, mushroom, spinach, roasted pepper, tomato and marinated chevre) almost too obscene as a mishmash of flavours.
I love waffles and their window locations make for convenient on the go meals at any time of day or night.
