Lunch at Romer's Burger Bar in Yaletown on July 30, 2013.
On this lazy afternoon in Yaletown, I dropped by Romer's Burger Bar for a power lunch filled for copious amounts of meat in between two buns.
Dennis went with the man's man burger (with thick applewood bacon, amber ale cheddar, and onion strings) claims to be "the best damn burger to ever hit your lips". I tried a mini slider version and they're pretty filling and flavourful.
We split an order of spicy chili cheddar cheese fries (with killer beef and pork chili, cheddar cheese, and chipotle aioli) and it was a tasty, gooey mess to eat up.
I had the Chorizodor burger with chorizo spiced pork and beef patty, cheddar, pepper jack, fresh avocado, and diablo sauce. It was a little dry and hard to eat with the avocado and copious toppings made up for it nicely.
Romer's offers some pretty satisfying and inventive gourmet burgers as well as a whole host of meaty side dishes. They can do a lot to fill an empty stomach.
