Shanghainese style dinner at Long's Noodle House on Main Street in Riley Park–Little Mountain on September 23, 2012.
Janice and I hit up Main Street for a Shanghainese dinner full of noodles, soups, and of course steamed pork xiaolongbao soup dumplings at Long's Noodle House.
The Shanghainese beef noodles were good and hearty. However, we ran out of soup before noodles. The beef and both were good, but the noodles were lacking.
The big bowl of chicken and wonton soup in a clay pot was massive and full of bits and rich chicken flavour. The drunken chicken was fair if bland but still kind of disappointing.
The xiaolongbao pork soup dumplings were very good and easily among the top in the city. The skin, soup, and pork all had a great flavour and combination.
I really enjoyed the meal at Long's. Their food was authentic and the small noodle house was packed full of Chinese diners so you know it's legit.
