2 Days in Portland: Breakfast at The Waffle Window and late night treats at Voodoo Doughnut on August 27, 2012.
On our first morning in PDX, we hit up this breakfast window on the Eastside of town.
It was worth the trip for some of the most savoury waffles I've ever had in a hip, fun, environment.
The simple window, indoor, and outdoor seating was a charming way to get breakfast.
I found the spicy bacon cheddar jalapeño waffle absolutely delicious with syrup right on the bacon. It was just so good and I'm still thinking about it.
The three b’s waffle (left) had pepper bacon, brie cheese, fresh basil, and house made peach jam. It certainly looked satisfying. The sweet and fruity peach and blueberry waffle (right) also looked quite delectable and opulent. It was a great way to start the day.
Later that day, we did the touristy thing and went for some late night doughnuts at Voodoo. I loved the maple bacon bar and chocolate Oreo peanut butter doughnuts. They're quite addictive.
Voodoo's funky take on these fried treats are famous. I recommend going during off hours to avoid the ridiculous lineups.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm guessing you went here because you saw it on tv? It's kind of awesome that the media is turning my hometown into a new Hollywood lol It's not surprising you went to this location. Most people only know of this location because they've seen it on tv. Probably didn't know about Voodoo Doughnuts Too on NE Davis huh. New people to Portland usually don't. You probably were in line with a ton of tourists huh. You likely won't ever get that with the Too location. It's the locals location with hardly any tourists. That's the problem with the one near China Town (which was actually Japan Town historically). All the tourists go there cramming it up (thank you media) and the employees could be nicer though. Overall great work that they've done here though
