Lunch at Gyo-O Japanese Restaurant at Continental Centre in Richmond on August 24, 2012.
Janice and I hit up Gyo-O (a part of the Gyoza King chain of restaurants) for a quick lunch in the cafe district of Richmond past all the Asian malls.
The space is really cool and artistic, but doesn't leave much in the way for seating. We were starving and ordered some donburis (aka rice bowls).
She had the unatama lunch and seafood salad with half boiled egg on rice. It was good and saucy with a tangy taste to the grilled eel.
I had the deep fried chicken karaage don with half a boiled egg. I was rather satisfied and enjoyed the consistency of all the food elements mixed together with the chicken, rice, egg, seaweed, and soy sauce.
I was quite happy with the quick (carb heavy) meal. I like Gyo-O's quaint, intimate atmosphere, and tasty lunch options.
