Cupcake Vodka Original launch at V-Lounge in Earls Restaurant in Yaletown on July 12, 2012.
From Cupcake Vineyard wines comes Cupcake Vodka Original, a distilled vodka from the California Sierra Nevada Mountains.
The vodka was tasty in the featured ginger peach fizz (with ginger syrup and white peach puree). It proved a nice, fizzy drink with a nice muddled, cloudy consistency and smooth flavour.
In keeping with the cupcake theme, there were mini treats from Original Cupcakes. Hanging out with Kevin from 604 Foodtography (middle) and Janice from Good Eat (right), we hit up the upstairs lounge in Earls to sample a few specialty vodka cocktails.
The cupcake mojito (with vanilla syrup, cucumber, and mint) was smooth and refreshing, while the razzmatazz (vodka sour with raspberry puree and basil) was sickly sweet and intense.
The tall hot tropic (vodka collins with fresh pineapple, orange, and jalapeño) was a mix mash of fruity flavours in a Tom Collins style libation, masking the natural taste of the distilled vodka.
The refreshing punch of vodka mixed with cupcakes and flair were a nice retreat from the blistering heat outside on the mean streets of Yaletown.
