Minami Restaurant's grand opening party in Yaletown on June 21, 2012.
The sister restaurant to Miku in Coal Harbour finally opened in the old Goldfish location in Yaletown.
They celebrated with a big party to welcome the Yaletown neighbourhood, media, friends, family, and guests.
The paint and artwork is striking and unique, standing out in the lounge, adding to the cool atmosphere.
The food at this upscale Japanese sushi eatery was top notch with a team of chefs carefully preparing every detail with a few trademark dishes transplanted from Miku.
The dishes were flowing, made with fresh fish and meats. The variety and presentation were all up to par.
The kitchen was working hard all night, pumping out the dishes, circulating them around for the guests. The scallop and yellowtail rolls were of particular deliciousness and highlights of the night.
Friends like Sandra Chung (left/below), Queenie Cao (right) and company were partying it up.
We couldn't resist a round of Asahi Japanese beers to wash down the sushi and food concoctions before some Pimm's cups (very bottom).
Cheers to the new Minami ("beautiful wave"), named after the second of the owner's daughter just Miku was named after the eldest. It's sure to have a lasting stand in its new Yaletown neighbourhood.
