Metric live in concert (special show) previewing Synthetica at the Commodore Ballroom on June 23, 2012.
The Commodore was packed to the gills on this Saturday night for a special winners only private concert, courtesy of Rogers Wireless Box Office.
Metric with the irresistible as ever Emily Haines previewed their forthcoming fifth studio album Synthetica.
I loved the fairly low key, raw concert (aside from the lights and lasers) with no opening act, little fanfare, or banter.
Metric got right to business and played a seemingly endless set, slowly amping up the theatrics song by song.
It was a confident performance emphasizing and showcasing their new album, especially in the show's first half.
The crowd was pleased by not only the new material but hits like "Help, I'm Alive", "Stadium Love", and "Monster Hospital".
After what seemed like an endless strobe light like sequence, the band came out for a encore.
It was a helluva show. The band left everything on the stage with a pulsating, energetic show all around.
They capped things off with an acoustic rendition of "Gimme Sympathy" and curtain call.
A solid full-length set followed by a fantastic encore adequately pumped up fans for Metric's newest album.
Update: Irv and I got to meet the band backstage.
