Dine Out for Life dinner at Memphis Blues BBQ House on West Broadway March 29, 2012.
A bunch of us including the Lams, Pangs, and Devon hit up Memphis Blues to dig into some southern style barbecued meat.
Coincidentally, it was Dine Out for Life night supporting those living with HIV/AIDs with 25% of proceeds from our meal going towards A Loving Spoonful and Friends for Life.
We ordered the ridiculous Elvis platter to split between six of us. This massive plate was filled with a slab o' ribs, sliced beef brisket, pulled pork, barbecue chicken, ribs ends, and smoked sausage. We had so much left over.
There was a full spread of side dishes including fries, potato salad, coleslaw, chili, corn bread, and barbecue sauce for dipping. It was all very tasty and filling as comfort food.
Memphis Blues is still the standard for southern style barbecue in Vancouver (with Hog Shack in Richmond up there too). It was a ridiculous amount of meat and food for a very economical price. MB will satisfy any craving for meat or barbecue.
