Late dinner at Suika Snackbar and Japanese restaurant on West Broadway on March 6, 2012.
Hands down, one of my favourite places in general, but especially for after hours eats, is the splendid Suika as an izakaya.
Outside the downtown core yet still centrally located, it's not only friendly and inviting, but the food is always delicious. Starting off, the tuna tataki was scrumptious.
Famished after a Yelp party, Ange, the Pangs, and I hit up Suika, starting off with the tasty fried ebi mayo prawn goodness.
We went full out for food. The array of oysters, tuna, ox tail ramen (very top), deep fried prawns and corn really hit the spot.
The highlight was the sizzling steak, super rare on the inside and crispy on the out with garlic chips. So very good served piping hot on a grill.
The pork belly rice bowl was crazily delicious and went down well. This was a great snack dish.
Everything was top notch as usual and mighty filling from the seafood to meat dishes in all.
