Menu tasting at Goldfish Seafood & Chops in Yaletown on September 7, 2011.
I was invited to another event at Yaletown's fine seafood eatery.
I was a fan of their first tweetup and frequent their happy hour menu and buck-a-shuck oyster specials.
Formerly "Goldfish Pacific Kitchen", Goldfish has rebranded to "Seafood & Chops" and with it, held a media event to introduce their new menu.
I enjoyed the simple but effective entertainment not limited to a DJ and bongo drummer. They were nice touches.
The randomly and surprisingly pleasant part was the contortionist.
We all marvelled at, well, her flexibility and bendiness.
My favourite foods were the giant prawns, sashimi, and Salmon Wellington (a new menu item). Along with the fine wine and ale, it made for a fun night sampling their new menu.
I was a little out of place with some of the other traditional media reps, hotel concierge and staff in attendance. However, I always have fun mingling and working the room. The delicious seafood certainly helped.
I always enjoy the food and locale of Goldfish. Their outdoor seating is a great place to dine. Enjoy it while the sun's around.
I hope their new menu and rebranding only enhance their service and dining without subtracting everything I liked about the old Pacific Kitchen. Oh, and one last thing, the Pepperidge Farm Goldfish crackers were a nice touch.
