NBA Pre-season Game: Phoenix Suns 78, Toronto Raptors 129 at Rogers Arena with Sarah Wong and hosted by Metropolis at Metrotown Hot Seats on October 6, 2010.
I was invited by my old UBC friend, Sarah Wong, to watch the Suns/Raptors NBA pre-season match up last night and cover it as an "up and coming" guest blogger. Sarah is in charge of special events marketing for Metropolis at Metrotown and regularly hosts contest winners at various events held at Rogers Arena.
Be sure to check out the previous Metropolis Hot Seats blog posts by guest bloggers Angela Jung (yellowrainbootz) and Nicole Soon (Le Mode du Jour) at the Jack Johnson concert last week.
The game was pretty boring as the Raptors pulled out to a wide lead early and never let up.
But the crowd loved native Steve Nash as most in the crowd seemed to be Suns supporters as a result.
Nonetheless, it was pretty cool sitting in a private, luxury box suite. It felt crazy being so high up on the fifth floor. We had a central view of the action too. I scarfed my fair share of snacks, relaxing in the suite.
I was surprised by the wide lead and blowout by Toronto against Phoenix. The game was never really in question.
Anytime Nash's name was mentioned or when he had the ball, the Vancouver crowd cheered endlessly. In the same vein, the crowd booed ferociously anytime former Raptor Hedo Türkoğlu was seen.
It was fun times watching the game in a luxury box suite, but especially catching up and talking shop with my old college buddy. Thanks to Sarah and Metropolis at Metrotown for the primo seat.
