Brunch at 33 Acres Brewing Co.'s tasting room in Mount Pleasant on January 10, 2015.
I may be late a little late to the party, but I finally got around to consuming some of 33 Acres' famous weekend brunch.
The waffle selection anchors their menu and have been lighting up my social media feeds every weekend for ages now, so I had to make the time to indulge bright and early one Saturday morning.
I ordered my light and fluffy beer waffles topped with bacon and chocolate malt Earnest Ice Cream and it was unsurprisingly delightful and delicious. They were certainly tasty and comforting going down.
33 Acres as a brand has quickly become a neighbourhood fixture for their seemingly simple yet sophisticatedly discerning tastes beyond just beer.
I imbibed with a glass of 33 Acres of Nirvana (an India Pale Ale with pine and candied orange). It was a light yet crisp IPA with the right amount of hop and flavour to it.
As always, the clean, open decor and style bleeds into every aspect and design of its elements and goods in a very appealing fashion.
I also got to try the brand new 33 Acres of Coff33 (a coffee bock collaboration brew with Matchstick Coffee featuring their coffee, cocoa, caramel, and dried fruit). I really dug the coffee taste nicely flavoured into the dark lager.
33 Acres is also fast becoming, not only a hub for good beer, but also a meeting point for local food makers.
The brewery's menu now boasts treats such as Cartems Donuts, Matchstick Coffee, Benton Brothers Fine Cheese, Bestie pretzels, Notch cold brew coffee, Nelson the Seagull sandwiches (weekdays for lunch), daily food trucks, and now, a dinner series from Juno Kim Catering.
These are all things that make the already very good beer even better.
