Donald Glover + Childish Gambino live in concert on The Deep Web Tour at the PNE Forum in Hastings Park on May 11, 2014.
Comedian and all-around talented artist Donald Glover brought his rapper alter ego Childish Gambino back to Vancouver for the final stop of The Deep Web Tour in support of last year's album, Because the Internet.
His manic energy propelled the visceral performance forward on this early Sunday night.
Gambino showcased his raw intensity despite a less than desirable, rundown music venue and musical setup.
It was hard not to notice the crowd of mostly intoxicated, sweaty suburban teens and bros in training all eyeing summertime fun on the horizon as they soaked in the Community stars layered beats and rhymes.
It was another solid performance showcasing Glover's talent and skill as an emcee and wordsmith with his firebrand of wry and thoughtfully explicit commentary about life and the power of the internet.
Reaffirming his showman status, he really is still more talented than you.
