Vancouver Daze, Volume 50: New Year's Day 91st Annual Polar Bear Swim in English Bay on January 1, 2012. Photos by Kevin Wu. Published in Vancouver Is Awesome.

New Year's Day means the annual tradition of hopping into the cold pacific sea for a quick afternoon dip.

As usual, the annual swim is a unique way to start off the year with new beginnings.

Obviously, the end of the year is a symbolic way to wrap up old business and start new ventures with a clean slate.

Make sure you have a happy (and very refreshing) new year, everyone.
