Drinks at The Diamond restaurant and bar in Gastown on August 31, 2011.
(Left to right: Colin's Lawn and Buck Buck Mule.) I love coming going to The Diamond for drinks. It's a charming little bar in Gastown.
(Singapore Sling and the Taxman.) On a not so random Wednesday evening this time, we came to celebrate the actual (and end to a weeklong) birthday celebration for Colene and Dennis.
(French 75 and Parliament.) We strolled in fairly early after work and stayed a few hours. I won't lie, some of the fun, fancy cocktails can be pricey, but it's fun and kitschy.
(Red Truck Pale Ale and Sotlano red wine.) After my Colin's Lawn, I stuck to good ol' beer for this adventure in weekday drinking.
(Penicillin and the Jersey.) It's difficult to keep all the different cocktail mixtures and concoctions straight, but their cute menu is fairly straightforward and the servers are very helpful in helping you choose.
I've never actually tried the food there apart from some bar peanuts (which were actually quite good). However, evidently the Gyoza (above) was pretty tasty. It certainly looked so.
(Mint Julep and Corpse Reviver.) The space is fun with a great view overlooking the centre of Vancouver's historic Gastown. Upstairs, you'll miss this standard in bars easily.
(Desserts: Panna Cotta and Coconut Tapioca.) It's certainly a more than suitable place to drop by and grab a drink with friends. I recommend it surely for its cocktails and experience.
