Retro Rock Weekend and horse carriage ride around Sun Peaks Resort from August 13 to 14, 2011.
Retro Rock Weekend was full of random fun and adventures including a horse carriage ride around Sun Peaks village and community with Sophia, Melanie, Dana, and Cathy.
It was a peaceful, relaxing venture exploring the area via horsepower.
We saw pretty much the entire community on a cool, summer day.
The weekend was full of tribute and cover bands of varying quality mimicking AC/DC to The Tragically Hip and ZZ Top.
The Blaze of Glory Bon Jovi tribute band was fun and raucous as the lead singer often wandered into the crowd of children and families with ample behind the stage wardrobe changes.
The Led Zeppelin Show was easily the best cover band for my money. The group of teenagers had great stage presence and wardrobe.
Their energy was electric including extended drum and guitar solos. I loved the accents with the lead singer exclaiming, "Thank you. Thank you very much after each song."
The Steel Wheels tribute to The Rolling Stones was admirable, but the older rockers captured a different, but still fun energy.
Crystal kept saying the lead singer reminded her of an older Jack back.
