Dinner at Powderhounds Restaurant and Mantles Restaurant & Lounge in Sun Peaks Resort on August 12 and 14, 2011.
Part of our adventures in Sun Peaks Resort, included trying a few of the popular restaurants. I know, tough work.
First off, over at Powderhounds, the pub vibe hid the fine selection of meat and seafood dishes as well as some tasty wine choices.
The shrimp pesto linguine looked pretty good.
The Hunter Schnitzel was crispy and filling and the wild B.C. salmon looked fresh.
I had the Beef Stroganoff on linguini and it was very delicious.
The desserts were pretty stellar. The lemon cheesecake had a unique flavour and rich taste. The apple crisp was crunchy and fruity.
I really loved the chocolate celebration consisting of three wildly different kinds of chocolates.
Over at Mantles in the Delta Sun Peaks, we started off with some wings. The hot wings were fine and tasty. The black pepper ones were good, but not as tangy.
Sophia had the market feature halibut on risotto and it was very good.
I had a New York strip loin steak cooked medium. It was delicious and cooked just right.
The curry chicken rice bowl was apparently the standard dish and it was actually pretty tasty. I enjoyed the western style curry flavour and hearty chicken pieces.
For dessert we went with a lemon tart and pot de crème. Both were pretty fair but nothing spectacular.
I thought both the dining options were pretty solid for the price. I liked the variety of options and taste.
