Tasting and tweetup at Goldfish Seafood & Chops in Yaletown on July 26, 2011.
I strolled down to Yaletown from Gastown yesterday right after work for some seafood goodness at Goldfish in honour of their new identity rebrand and refocus on purely on seafood.
I was hanging out with foodie rockstars like Mijune Pak, Victoria Chemko, Richard Wolak, and of course my buddies Dennis, May, Colene, and Sophia.
I dig the new direction so far. The samples they provided were quite appetizing, especially the double seafood tower platter.
My favourites were the prawns, scallops, and salmon sashimi. I also scarfed down half a cold lobster tail, which was delicious.
The lamb chops were the only item served not featured on their new menu. Too bad as it was damn tasty. Apparently, it may show up seasonally.
The deep fried, bacon-wrapped scallops were also quite good. No surprise, as the combination of those three things was dynamite.
Another stand out was the shrimp gyōza. It was also tasty and appetizing.
It was great seeing and hanging out with Chin Chin Ho, Grace Cheung, Astra Paterson-Taylor, Paul Marr, Brendan Bailey, Melissa Guillergan, Amy Elderkin, Kathy Ko, Caroline Clapham, Conner Galway, and May Globus over some wine.
It certainly was not a bad way to spend a Tuesday afternoon/evening.
