Footworks Relaxology grand opening party organized by Blank Communications with (from left to right below) Colene, Sophia Cheng, Roger Lam, and Lisa Wong in Kitsilano on March 23, 2011.
I don't usually attend massage or spa type parties but there's a first time for everything, right? My colleague and workmate Sophia helped organized Footworks' opening business kick off.
Colene and I both caught a couple of complimentary 15-minute foot massages side by side. Oh my. It was pretty great. So relaxing. A bit painful, but good painful. I really loved the treatment.
I am not one for pampering myself on such treatments. However, I am more than tempted to go back for a full session, especially for their Monday discounted deals.
I met up with Erin Shaw (right) appropriately from Shaw television (a fellow BCIT BJer and soon-to-be V.I.A.er) and her companion Albert, rocking the same Lumix GF1 camera I sport. I also caught up with fine folks like Lisa, Nicole Soon, May Globus, Angie Ishak, and many others.
I cannot stress enough how much I enjoy a casual, inviting night, especially when it comes to business launches.
Let the mood and work of the business speak for itself. And they did that in spades.
I enjoyed the eats by Roaming Dragon truck cart food and wine by Yellow Tail. It was very reminiscent of the Slop Press launch event, also organized by Blank, at Walrus boutique. Quite a few social notables packed the small space making for a warm atmosphere.
The massive cake from Belle Cakes & Pastries was also quite good. There were also ample Hagensborg Truffle Pig chocolates. Delicious.
Owners Jenny Shin and Nancy Hannoun were mingling about making sure everybody sampled their services and were enjoying themselves.
"Why do I make these ridiculous faces? They just end up on your blog, embarrassing myself." I don't know why either, Colene, but they're always priceless. I couldn't resist.
