CBC Radio 2's The Toque Sessions with Jill Barber for Canada Live recorded at Studio 40 at CBC Vancouver on February 21, 2010.
Halifax's Jill Barber is an absolutely fantastic singer/songwriter.
Her classical voice and old fashioned beauty absolutely tore the house down in the intimate basement setting at the CBC building last night.
Her incredible presence and full six-piece band impressed the quaint audience of 300 or so cheery listeners.
It is as if Barber had walked out of a smokey lounge in her red dress during the dawn of rock and roll.

It is definitely worth a listen.
Barber showcased not only her incredible talent, but also her charming presence and smooth grace with a stellar performance.
She kept the crowd entertained with her whimsy and playfully awkward banter.
A hopeless romantic, Barber crooned the audience with her tales of love and love lost.
But she also knows how to give a high energy performance as she came to the crowd and got everyone involved.
Barber gave one the best performances by a pure singer I have had the pleasure of listening to in a very long time.
Jill Barber plays LiveCity Yaletown tonight at 8pm and Atlantic Canada House on Wednesday at 8pm.
